Actor Rahman was once a popular hero. He took a break only to resurface in director Ameer’s Ram.
Now busy in Malayalam films doing meaty roles, Rahman will play a tough cop in the remake version of yesteryear blockbuster Billa. He enacts the role played by Major Sundararajan in the original.

Actor Ajith Kumar’s much hyped movie Billa 2007 has interesting cast. Sources say, actor Prabhu is playing a meaty role in this movie. The latest buzz is that Nayantara is playing the role played by Sripriya in the Rajinikanth starrer Billa.
Namitha is playing a meaty role. Multi talented Prakashraj dons the role of Major Sundar Rajan. Mumaith Khan is playing an item number. Besides the expectations of this movie, Ajith fans are awaiting the release of the movie Kireedom.
Trisha plays the female lead role. This movie is expected to hit the theatres on 1st May, 2007.
Billa 2007 is yet to kick off and already the confusion has started, don’t panic this confusion is actually good for the movie. (In the sense that Billa 2007 is getting some publicity and there is a good competition among the heroines to act opposite to our “THALA”)
Already we had reported that Naynthara, Pooja will be the heroines of Ajith in this movie then came the news of Namitha being roped in and now it being reported Sada may also feature, who’s next on the list?
Cinesouth reported this:
More important than all these is ‘Billa 2007’ opposite Ajith. She [Sada] has been approached for the main role. She has already acted with Ajith in ‘Thirupati.’
Sada was labeled an unlucky actress. Her victorious comeback now is giving most other actresses butterflies in their tummies!

Namitha started her career acting with senior heroes in the industry. But soon, she managed to establish herself as the glamdoll of Tamil cinema and had offers coming her way thick and fast.
She is currently acting in Azhagiya Thamizh Magan alongside Vijay.
Grapevine also has it that Namitha will be acting with Ajith in the remake of the yesteryear classic Billa.
Namitha, who has reduced her weight considerably to act with Vijay, is thrilled at her new-found status in Tamil cinema.
She says, “I want to make the maximum use of the opportunities coming to me. It is the dream of every actress to be part of movies featuring prominent heroes and I am no exception to it.”
Remakes rule the roost – atleast in Ajith’s date books that is – this year around. While he is up and running with Kreedom, which is yet another remake, ground work for the remake of the yesteryear’s Rajini starrer smash hit Billa 2007 is on. News is already out about Nayan and
Prabhu’s inclusion for the movie. Earlier Pooja was rumored to be a part of the movie, which seems to be replaced by Namitha.
While Nayan will don the role of Sripriya, Namitha plays the role of Praveena. Besides, the sultry Mumaith Khan is roped in for a raunchy dance number. Now, as it appears, Prakash Raj will play the villainous role of Major Sundar Rajan.
Credible sources reveal that Rajinikanth has been invited along with the yesteryear heroine Sripriya – who paired up with him for the original version – for the kick off event of Billa 2007, which is expected to be held soon. Looks like the superstar has nodded his consent to grace the occasion with his presence.
Meanwhile, Ajith fans are revving up the mood with posters and banners in and around Chennai city earmarking the launch of the movie.
Ajith’s Billa 2007 is in the news for a number of reasons. Just recently, we had reported that Prabhu is expected to play a prominent role in the film. Nayantara will do the role that Sripriya enacted, while Namitha dons the role that Praveena did in the original.
Now, additional information on the cast reveals that Prakash Raj will be playing the role that Major Sundar Rajan enacted in the original version of this film. Besides, the new-found item girl Mumaith Khan has been roped in for an exhilarating number in the film.
If sources are to be believed, Superstar of Tamil cinema, Rajinikanth and yesteryear actor Sripriya, both of whom starred in the original version of the film, will make it to the film’s muhurat.
